Terms of Service
Last updated: 06/09/2026
The short version. Stats is free to use with up to four tabs. For €14 a year you can create as many tabs as you like, plus a few extras. The subscription renews once a year, you can cancel it yourself at any time, and you can get a full refund within 14 days. If your subscription ends, your tabs stay visible and exportable, they simply become read only. We never delete your data because a subscription ended.
1. Who these terms are with
Stats is provided by Chapter 26 AS, organisation number 938 312 273, registered at Øyjordslien 26, 5038 Bergen, Norway. In these terms, “we” and “us” means Chapter 26 AS, and “you” means the person using Stats.
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Stats.
2. Who can use Stats
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Stats is for personal use. You may use it for your own work or business record keeping, but you may not resell access to it or offer it to others as your own service.
3. Your account
- Give a real email address, because it is how we reset your password and reach you about your account
- Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account
- One account per person. Do not share a login with other people
- You are responsible for what happens under your account
4. What is free and what is paid
Free. You get all of Stats with up to four tabs of your own, with your own columns and units, or made from our templates. You can record stats, build widgets and checklists, use the dashboard, and export your data. There is no time limit and no trial that runs out.
Paid. A subscription of €14 per year removes the tab limit and adds weekly and monthly habit trackers, colour themes and up to 20 photo widgets.
We may add new features to either tier over time. We will not move a feature you already rely on from the free tier into the paid tier without telling you in advance and giving you the choice to cancel.
5. Payment, renewal and cancelling
Who sells you the subscription depends on where you buy it. This matters, because it determines who takes the payment and who issues any refund.
- On our website, the subscription is sold and processed by Paddle, who act as the authorised reseller and merchant of record for Stats. Paddle handles billing, invoices, refunds and sales tax, and their buyer terms apply alongside these terms
- Inside the iPhone or Android app, the subscription is sold by Apple or Google through the App Store or Google Play. They take the payment, they issue the receipt, and their own terms apply to that purchase
Either way the subscription unlocks the same thing, and your account works the same on every device.
- The price is €14 per year, or the equivalent in your local currency, including VAT or sales tax where it applies. The amount you see at checkout is the amount you pay
- The subscription renews automatically once a year on the anniversary of your purchase, until you cancel it
- You can cancel at any time, and cancelling always stops the next renewal while leaving you your paid features until the end of the period you already paid for. If you subscribed on the website, cancel in your Stats account settings. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in your Apple or Google subscription settings, because only they can stop a payment they collect. The mobile app links you straight to the right place
- Either way it is self service. No email, no phone call, no waiting
- We will email you a reminder before each renewal, with the amount and the date
6. Your 14 day right to change your mind
You have 14 days to get your money back, for any reason, or for no reason. The 14 days run from the day you subscribe or renew. You do not need to justify it, and using Stats in the meantime does not take the right away.
This is the withdrawal right that consumers in the European Economic Area have by law. We have chosen not to ask you to waive it in exchange for immediate access, and we offer the same 14 days to customers everywhere in the world, including where local law does not require it.
How you claim it depends on who took the payment. If you subscribed on our website, cancel in your account settings and email support@statsapp.no, or contact Paddle directly. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, request the refund from Apple or Google, since we never received the money and cannot return it for them.
If Apple or Google turns down a request you made within 14 days, contact us anyway. We will put it right ourselves, by refunding you directly or by extending your subscription, whichever you prefer. The promise above is ours, and it holds wherever you bought.
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, normally within 14 days.
7. What happens if your subscription ends
This is the part people worry about, so we want it to be unambiguous. If you cancel, or a renewal payment fails and is not fixed:
- Nothing is deleted. Every tab, every stat and every photo stays exactly where it is
- Tabs beyond the four of the free plan remain visible and readable. They become read only, so you cannot add or edit stats in them until you subscribe again
- Your four oldest tabs keep working normally, with full editing
- Weekly and monthly habit trackers become read only too, the colour theme goes back to green, and photos beyond the four of the free plan stay visible
- Export keeps working. You can download all of your data as CSV at any time, subscription or not
- If a payment fails we give you 30 days and send a reminder before anything becomes read only, so an expired card does not catch you out
- Subscribe again at any time and everything becomes editable exactly as it was
8. Your content belongs to you
Everything you put into Stats is yours. We do not claim ownership of it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or to train anything.
You give us only the narrow permission we need to actually run the service, which is to store your content, back it up, and display it back to you across your devices. That permission exists solely to provide Stats to you, and it ends when you delete your content or your account.
9. Using Stats fairly
Please do not:
- Use Stats for anything illegal, or to store content that is illegal to possess
- Try to break into, overload or disrupt the service, or access other people’s accounts
- Copy, scrape or resell the service, or use automated systems to hammer it
- Get round the limits of the free tier by technical means
- Upload malware, or content that infringes someone else’s rights
10. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Stats running, but we do not promise a particular level of uptime. The service can be interrupted by maintenance, by faults, or by problems at the providers we depend on.
Stats is a product that is still growing, so features will be added, improved and sometimes changed. If we need to remove something significant that paying customers depend on, we will give you reasonable notice, and you can cancel and get a proportional refund of the time you have paid for and will not use.
11. Backups, and keeping your own copy
We keep regular encrypted backups and we take data loss seriously. Even so, no online service is immune to failure, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it.
We recommend you export your data to CSV from time to time and keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose. The export button is always available and always free.
Stats is a personal tracking tool, not an archive of record. Please do not rely on it as your only copy of anything you would need for medical, legal, tax or other official purposes.
12. Our responsibility to you
Stats is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be free of faults or that it will fit a particular purpose you have in mind.
Where the law allows us to limit our liability, our total liability to you for any claim connected with Stats is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited. That includes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in. If any part of these terms conflicts with those rights, those rights win.
13. Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time. Cancel your subscription in your settings, or delete your account entirely, which erases your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
If we ever have to close Stats down, we will give you at least 60 days notice by email. Your data will stay available and exportable for the whole of that period, and if you are a subscriber we will refund the part of your subscription you have not used, unless we are prevented by law from doing so. We will not disappear overnight and leave you without your data.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks section 9, or where we are required to by law. Except where the breach is severe or illegal, we will warn you first, explain what the problem is, and give you a fair chance to put it right. If we close a paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of your subscription. If we close your account, you will have the opportunity to export your data before it is removed, unless the law prevents us from allowing that.
14. Changes to these terms, and to the price
We may update these terms as Stats develops. For minor clarifications we will update the date at the top of this page. For anything that materially affects you, we will email you and show a notice in Stats at least 30 days beforehand.
The same applies to the price. Any change to the subscription price will be announced at least 30 days before it takes effect and will only ever apply to renewals after that date, never to a period you have already paid for. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before your next renewal and nothing further will be charged.
15. Which law applies, and how to complain
These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes belong to the Norwegian courts.
If you are a consumer living outside Norway, this choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in your own local courts.
If something has gone wrong, please email us first at support@statsapp.no. Most things are sorted out quickly that way. If we cannot resolve it between us:
- In Norway you can contact Forbrukertilsynet, the Norwegian Consumer Authority (forbrukertilsynet.no)
- Elsewhere in the European Economic Area you can contact your national consumer dispute body, or the European Consumer Centre in your country
16. Some practical points
- If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the rest of them still apply
- If we do not enforce something straight away, that does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later
- You may not transfer your account to someone else. We may transfer these terms if the business is sold, and we will tell you beforehand if that happens
- These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about Stats
- The English version of these terms is the version that governs. Translations are provided for convenience, and if they differ, the English text applies
